Master and Associate Professor of the Sydney College of the Arts, Liu Wei adheres to the creative philosophy of contemporary interpretation of traditional aesthetics. She breaks the boundaries between pure art and spatial design, excelling at integrating ink painting artistic conception and intangible cultural heritage textures into modern materials such as mirror-finish stainless steel and optical fibers, creating “emotional spaces” that balance functionality and poetic charm.
Her portfolio includes custom private residences for film and television celebrities, the full-case design of the Urban Living Room at CRRC Tianjin Jinpu Wisdom Harbor, and the Suzhou Guojian Courtyard project which reinterprets Huizhou cultural context. Her works have won numerous industry honors including the China Hotel Association Furnishing Art Award and the Golden Bund Award. Advocating that “aesthetics and practicality are not mutually exclusive”, she uses the collision of natural material textures and the finishing touch of artistic installations to turn spaces into carriers of culture and emotion, realizing the implementation of design value in commercial real estate, high-end hotels and residential sectors.
