“Nezha Infant Armor System” | Artist: Shi Jinsong | Production Support: ODE
Shi Jinsong is a leading Chinese contemporary avant-garde artist. His “Infant Armor System” series is based on children’s care objects, transforming everyday items such as baby strollers and cradles into stainless-steel mechanical installations, combined with the mythological imagery of Nezha, forming a highly conceptual language of contemporary sculpture.
Through the reconstruction of “protective structures,” functional objects are detached from their original use and reconfigured as visual metaphors of body, growth, and safety mechanisms, generating a tense yet restrained installation system in cold industrial metal.
The series has been exhibited in major international art institutions and platforms, including the Centre Pompidou, and is recognized as an important part of the artist’s conceptual sculpture practice.
