ALinked by Mountains and Rivers, Friendship Forever is a large-scale relief mural located in the lobby of the China-Vietnam Friendship Palace in Hanoi, Vietnam. Crafted from high-quality stone, colored marble, bronze, and adorned with gold leaf, it combines stone carving, marble inlay, bronze casting, and gold leaf application techniques to symbolize endurance, shared cultural heritage, and the sanctity of friendship. Centered on the theme of “Linked by Mountains and Rivers, Friendship Forever,” the mural features the shared Sun-patterned Bronze Drum as its core cultural symbol, the China-Vietnam Friendship Palace held aloft by lotus flowers and auspicious clouds, and vivid depictions of shared ethnic groups dancing, singing, and working amid tropical flora, all to visually represent the deep historical bonds, mutual understanding, and enduring friendship between the peoples of China and Vietnam.
