Located at Olympic Sports Center Station of Jinan Metro Line 3, Light of Olympic Sports was designed by CAFA, with fabrication and installation completed by ODE.

Inspired by the architectural form of the Olympic venues and the cultural spirit of Jinan city, the artwork adopts a pointed stained glass dome as its visual core. The stained glass panels capture dynamic lines of athletes, with colourful blocks simulating sunlight penetrating spring water. Blue and white water-themed patterns on columns and walls echo the identity of Spring City, whose flowing curves interact with the coloured light from the ceiling, blending athletic vitality and local cultural heritage.

The minimalist ceiling slats and white cylindrical pillars form a restrained base to highlight the splendour of stained glass. Light filtering through the glass shifts over time, symbolizing the everlasting passion of sports. Transcending the functional nature of metro space, the work turns an underground transit station into an urban art gallery, conveying the vigorous spirit of Jinan.

ODE undertook detailed design refinement, component production and onsite assembly, translating the design team’s conceptual vision into a permanent immersive public art landmark.
