Ren Zhe graduated from the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, and is the first artist to hold a solo sculpture exhibition at the Imperial Ancestral Temple. His works have been featured in major domestic and international art events, including special exhibitions at the National Art Museum of China and the Shanghai Contemporary Art Biennale. In 2024, he participated in the special exhibition A Great Knight-Errant: Commemorating the Centennial Anniversary of Jin Yong’s Birth, presenting over 40 sculptures themed on Jin Yong’s martial arts novels.
His representative works include the God of War series, crafted from stainless steel and inspired by traditional door gods; the five-meter-tall iconic piece Youth on the Plain; and a series of sculptures depicting martial arts characters from Jin Yong’s novels such as Guo Jing and Linghu Chong.
Ren Zhe’s works are collected by prestigious institutions including the Palace Museum and the National Art Museum of China. He has received honors such as the Award for Emerging Artist in Spatial Art at the 3rd Robam Emerging Artists Awards in 2011 and the Pioneer Figure of Fashion Classics at the 80th Anniversary of Esquire in 2013. He has also collaborated with Adidas on the design of trendy product lines.
