“Pop Star”|Artist & Architect Li Hao
Like a colorful star descending into the wheat fields, “Pop Star” creates a constantly shifting spectrum through the interaction of transparent materials and natural light. As sunlight passes through the surface, iridescent reflections transform with every viewing angle, placing the work somewhere between reality and imagination.
To preserve the transparency and floating sensation envisioned in the original concept, the ODE team went through multiple rounds of material and structural experimentation, eventually choosing acrylic panels combined with iridescent film for the final presentation.
The installation adopts a spherical space-frame structure, ensuring the stability of its 15-meter span while minimizing the physical weight of the form, allowing the work to appear almost suspended within the landscape.
Ultimately, this “Pop Star” truly landed in the wheat fields of Hengsha Island, Shanghai.
