Identity: A contemporary Chinese sculptor and installation artist. He graduated from Foshan University and later pursued advanced studies at the Postgraduate Class of Ceramic Sculpture, Department of Sculpture, Central Academy of Fine Arts.
Creative Style: His creations span the fields of traditional sculpture and contemporary installations, embodying both the accumulation of traditional craftsmanship and the spirit of modern material experimentation. He excels at integrating local culture with modern artistic languages, exploring the reflective properties, organic form expressions, and symbiotic relationships with space of his works through modern materials such as mirror-finish stainless steel, and endowing his early creations with brand-new visual expressions via material remodeling.
Representative Works: His traditional sculptures include theme-based pieces such as the forged copper Tai Chi and the bronze Beethoven; his representative contemporary installations cover Silver Planet and Journey, as well as Green and Honeymoon Trip—reinterpretations of his early conceptual works using mirror-finish stainless steel. Among these, the new version of Honeymoon Trip retains the organically abstract forms of smooth curved surfaces and rounded spheres.
Artistic Practice: His works have been exhibited in numerous art exhibitions at home and abroad. He has designed sculptures for projects including the venues of the Beijing Olympic Games and the reconstruction of the Yuan Dadu City Wall Ruins Park. He has participated in public art projects such as the Foshan Meitaowan Public Art Season, and completed an artist-in-residence program at the Tsingpu Yangzhou Slender West Lake Retreat, continuously exploring the correlation between material characteristics and site contexts.
