“Lixiang Sculpture” is an early experimental work by Zhong Song and an important starting point of his later Oriental minimalist aesthetic system. The work begins with archetypal human gestures such as “wrapping,” “standing,” and “sedimentation,” transforming the human figure into an abstract structure between sculpture and a vessel of spirit. It integrates multiple materials including solid wood, metal, and openwork weaving, forming a restrained formal language and a distinctive spatial expression.

This phase of exploration became the origin of his later practice, extending into large-scale public sculpture such as Oriental Light — Sundial, as well as spatial design, furniture, and series such as “Wanwu” and “Tianwu.”

In his later career, Zhong Song received major international and industry honors, including the EDIDA International Design Award “Young Designer of the Year,” the Golden Pin Design Award Jury Special Award, and the Kylin Award for Art and Design. He was also invited to participate in Milan Design Week and other international exhibitions and exchange programs.
