The successful completion of this sculpture project is built upon 40 years of rapid development and accumulation in China’s urban public art sector. Looking back 10 to 20 years ago, the metal sculpture processing technology of the time was simply incapable of supporting the realization of such large-scale, irregular metal sculptures with highly distinctive design concepts.

The sculpture is crafted from over 100,000 stainless steel decorative panels in total. As an LED lighting system is installed inside the sculpture, gaps and holes are precisely reserved between the panels. This not only restores the complete gleaming visual effect of the sculpture’s surface but also allows light to pass through the gaps to create an overall glowing effect at night, perfectly meeting the design requirements for color expression and nighttime lighting effects.

In terms of shape control and structural safety, the team adopted a digital and modular production method throughout the project. Through parametric modeling and prefabricated assembly, we ensured that the sculptural irregular curved surfaces achieved both precision in form and compliance with structural safety standards. The sculpture’s ultra-large scale and irregular structure placed extremely high demands on the hoisting operation, and conventional mobile cranes could not meet the safety and absolute stability standards required for construction. To address this, we specially customized a gantry crane, ultimately completing the hoisting of this large metal sculpture in a far more stable and safe manner.
