The Chengdu Science Fiction Museum brings together architectural sculpture, installation art, and a futuristic spatial language to create a distinctive sci-fi landmark for the city. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the project is defined by its iconic “Nebula” flowing forms and the landmark “Sky Ladder” installation, creating an immersive environment that embodies movement, innovation, and imagination.
ODE was responsible for the entire realization process of the project’s core installations and metal sculptures, overseeing everything from detailed design development to on-site construction and installation. Through parametric modeling, structural optimization, and meticulous detailing, the team translated complex geometries and fluid architectural forms into precisely executed physical structures. High-precision mirror-finished stainless steel was carefully crafted and refined to enhance the building’s dynamic reflections, spatial continuity, and futuristic character. By faithfully preserving the original design intent, ODE transformed an ambitious architectural vision into a tangible spatial experience, seamlessly integrating architecture, art, and advanced fabrication into a unified whole.
