Tea Valley is a public art work that integrates corten steel sculpture, mountain-inspired installation, and a nature-based spatial expression, completed in Lu’an, Anhui Province. Rooted in the natural context of valleys and tea fields, the work translates topographical structures into a contemporary sculptural language, forming a spatial landmark with strong tension within the natural environment.

In the early stage of the project, the client had already confirmed a stainless steel solution with a green painted finish. During ongoing discussions between designer Zhang Zhaohong and Mr. Song, head of ODE, the dialogue continued to revolve around the work’s essential language and final expression. When asked for his judgment on the material direction, Mr. Song responded with a single sentence: “You should trust the answer within yourself.” This brief exchange became a key turning point, bringing the design back to its original conceptual foundation and reinforcing the artist’s confidence in the final decision.
