TEDA Flower | Artist: Huang Jian | Fabrication: ODE

TEDA Flower was created by Olympic Art Ambassador Huang Jian for the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA). The project marked the artist’s first exploration of applying PVD rainbow titanium coating technology to a large-scale urban sculpture.

Inspired by a blooming bouquet, the work expresses the vitality, openness, and forward-looking spirit of the city. Through its upward-reaching composition and dynamic sculptural language, the installation creates a strong visual identity, transforming a familiar floral image into a contemporary urban landmark.

The combination of mirror-polished stainless steel and PVD rainbow titanium coating allows the sculpture to respond continuously to changing light and environmental conditions. As perspectives and surroundings shift, new layers of color and reflection emerge, creating an ever-changing visual experience.

ODE participated in technical development, structural realization, and fabrication, helping bring the artist’s vision into reality while contributing to one of the earliest large-scale explorations of rainbow titanium coating in public art.
