The sculptural installation Chroma Bloom (吉光赋彩) was designed by SOFTlab, a New York-based art and design studio. It is located in the Lotus Pond Atrium of Block A at NANCheng MIXC in North Nanjing, serving as the debut work of the mall’s contemporary avant-garde art season “Live Vividly • In Full Color” and also a representative work of SOFTlab in China’s commercial spaces.
Founded in New York by Michael Szivos, SOFTlab operates across the fields of art, architecture, interactive design and digital technology. The studio was awarded the 2012 Architectural League Prize for Young Architects & Designers and the 2010 AIA New York “Best of Practice Award”. It has long maintained collaborations with prestigious institutions including MoMA, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and IBM.
Our team was responsible for the detailed design, fabrication and on-site installation of the artwork.
