Seeds in Flight.

Seeds in Flight.

This project is the core art installation of the Terminal 3 at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, featuring the themed artwork Seeds in Flight. Designed by Jussi Angesleva, the renowned Finnish digital art master, the artist paid a special visit to our production factory to observe the entire on-site commissioning process of the physical installation, and highly commended our team for the craftsmanship realization and the precision of dynamic adjustment.

Inspired by the winged fruit seeds of the Lingnan ash tree, the installation adopts a golden, irregular curved metal blade structure as its main body, with a total weight of 3.9 tons. During production, our team repeatedly refined the mechanical agility in close collaboration with the designer. We accurately restored the streamlined curved surfaces of the blades through digital modeling, while finely tuning the transmission system. The installation finally achieves smooth operation at a low speed of less than 2 revolutions per minute, endowing the several-ton heavy structure with the light, floating motion of falling seeds. It has become an iconic artistic landmark at Baiyun Airport that integrates Lingnan culture and modern airport aesthetics.
